Ayris Privacy Policy
Effective 31 October 2026
This policy covers Ayris, the Windows app published by Naol (“we”). It explains what the app accesses on your PC, why, and what happens to it.
Data we collect
None. Ayris has no servers and sends nothing over the internet: no personal information, no usage statistics, no crash reports and no file data. It works fully offline.
Your files
- Files you drop on Ayris are converted, compressed or edited on your PC only.
- Your original files are never modified, moved or deleted. Results are saved as new files in a new folder, next to the originals or in a folder you choose in Settings.
- Text recognition (“Copy the text”) uses an engine bundled with Ayris, with the one built into Windows as a fallback. Both run only on your PC.
- Audio, video and PDF work is done by FFmpeg and PDFium, which are bundled with Ayris and also run only on your PC.
Mouse and keyboard
Ayris opens its menu when you draw a small circle while dragging files. To notice that:
- Mouse: Ayris watches the mouse only while File Explorer or the desktop is the active window. It reads left-button presses and, only while the button is held, the pointer's movement. The movement is used in memory to recognize the circle and is then discarded. It is never stored, logged or sent anywhere. While any other app is active, Ayris does not watch the mouse at all, and you can pause it from the tray icon at any time.
- Keyboard: only while the Ayris menu is open, Ayris reads the Left and Right arrow keys to switch menu pages. It reads no other keys and never records typing.
- Selected files: when you press on a file in File Explorer or on the desktop, Ayris reads which files are selected, so it knows what you are dragging.
Clipboard
Ayris writes to the clipboard only when you choose an action that copies (such as “Copy the text”, “Copy as image” or “Copy path”). It never reads your clipboard.
What is stored on your PC
- Settings you choose, in
%APPDATA%\Ayris\settings.json. - A diagnostic log in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Ayris\logs, kept small (at most a few megabytes) to help with troubleshooting. It may contain file names and error messages, but never file contents, keystrokes or pointer positions. It stays on your PC and is only shared if you send it to us yourself. - The list of recent results in the tray menu is kept in memory only and is gone when Ayris closes.
Uninstalling Ayris removes the app. You can delete the folders above to remove your settings and log too.

Third parties
Ayris includes no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking services. The bundled components (FFmpeg, PDFium and others listed under Settings → Third-party licenses) run locally and make no network connections.
Children
Ayris collects no data from anyone, including children.
